Just downloaded your CMS but I opened up the .zip file and it doesn't seem to have a file to install the program. Is there something special I need to do to install this program? I am pretty good with Mac's so let me know if you can help thanks!

What do you mean by install the program? Fork is a web application, not a regular application you install on your computer.

You can download and install XAMPP which is a regular application and then follow the instructions in this post:

Everything in your screenshot has an "ok" icon. If you scroll down there must be something red pointing out the specific error.

You didn't copy the .htaccess file. All files that start with a dot are hidden, you have to open the terminal and paste the following command:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool YES
    killall Finder

That way you'll be able to see hidden files. Inside the default_www folder that you extracted from fork's zip you must be able to see it, so copy it to htdocs.

To hide those files again execute the following command:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool NO
    killall Finder

Is there a way to get more creative with this CMS? Like add your own images and logo etc...?

There is, from what I've read you should start by cpying the triton theme to see how it all works, but I haven't done it myself. I don't yet have enough time to play around with it, I'm at the same point as you :P

Today we released 3.0.0, which includes a theme-installer. Also there are some themes available on http://www.fork-cms.com/extensions. Maybe you can get some inspiration from those themes.
