Hi there,

I just recently started using Fork CMS (I just graduated ICT at KaHo Sint Lieven, where it is a well known CMS :) ).

I was just wondering if there are plans to develop (somewhere in the near future) an Imagegallery module?

Thanks!
Steff

@steff: As I know, there's no public module available for the moment.

But I know that [Frederik][http://forum.fork-cms.com/users/1040656] has made an imagegallery module (private), so you better contact him if you want to buy it...
or maby we can all convince him to make it public <:-D

I have ideas for making a "media module", that allows you to make galleries of "files, images and movies".
But I want it to be integratable in every other module (like tags or meta), but thats complicated.

If other people are interested, feel free to reply here. I'd like to have a public core media module.

I created a demo for the photo gallery.

    Frontend url: http://cl.ly/3L3Y3i0U3C1H2r380020

    Backend url: http://demo.fork-cms-modules.com/private
Login: [email blocked] (replace *** width 'demo')
    Pasw: demo

Other people also use the login credentials, so be nice with it!

    Feedback is welcome!

    Great work frederik!

I'm testing the module right now and have the following questions:

    • Are the images being uploaded using these 3 cropsizes? http://demo.fork-cms-modules.com/private/en/photogallery/settings
    • Why is each crop-size named twice?
    • Will there be a multi-file-uploader...
    • Would it be possible to easily integrate the photogallery to other modules (like with meta and tags) f.e.: if I want to add a photogallery to a blog-item, an event-item or a custom module...

    • No, you can add more resolutions if you like, see settings/modules/photogallery, than you can change the name of the folder used in the template from (for example) 50x50 to 50x100
    • What do you mean
    • No, i don't want to use flash
    • It already uses meta, and tags is easy to implement. If you want to add a gallery to a blog item you should extend blog.

    Upload settingsFixed

Well as in the screenshot you have 6 resolutions, but only 3 of them are unique. When uploading an image, will it be saved 6 times (double work, not necessary), or only 3 unique times.

    Multi-file-uploaderPossible feature

Usability is a top-priority in Fork CMS, users want to select multiple images, no matter what...

There are some uploaders that are not using flash or only as fallback when html5 and html4 not work.
Check out this amazing uploader: http://www.plupload.com/

Possibility to implement photogallery in other modulesdeveloper-shizzle

I'm seeing this a little different, it would be lovely to implement a backend photogallery widget into every module I wish (blog for example). Wich would be in a new tab "photogallery" (like you have template, seo, ...). Then when saving the blog-item, it also uploads the new pictures to "the referring photogallery-item" or saves the order of the images...

    • The resolutions is my fault, i re-installed the module and it added them to the DB.
    • WIll think about it
    • This is a side-wide feature, i will not implement this.

    Hi All.

I just installed my new version of the photo gallery module.
    It's a complete rewrite of v1.

    What changed?
    - Cleaner code… - You can now create your own widgets with the type of pages, lightbox or slideshow with there own resolution - You can now create an album in another language based on an existing album (example: the same album in 2 languages with different text content)

    Frontend url: http://demo.fork-cms-modules.com/en/gallery-module

    Backend url: http://demo.fork-cms-modules.com/private
Login: [email blocked] (replace *** width 'demo')
    Pasw: demo

    Frederik,

No community (=free) edition of the module?
As fork-cms is opensource, It would be great to have a gallery module for free.

Otherwise, I don't think you will sell much copies of the module.

    regards,

    Pieter

Maybe my v1 will be open source, i am thinking about it. (no promises!) (it has over 60 hours of dev. time…)
v2 will not be for free, there are over 100 hours of dev. time in it.

You also can write it yourself and spent a lot of time and research on it. Or are you willing to pay 250 euros for a module?

Frederik: no offence, but Fork has a lot more dev-hours in it and it is also free. By which I don't mean you should publish it freely. I just don't think the forum is the best place to sell modules.
